Derek & Kelly are engaged! Roger & Lorie Loerch are happy to announce the engagement of their son, Derek, to his girlfriend, Kelly! Derek & Kelly met at a Calvary Lutheran Church function in their freshman year in high school, 2002. They are both going to college at the University of South Florida. Kelly is majoring in Elementary Education and Derek is majoring in Finance/Marketing. Derek popped the question while the whole family was in Hawaii on vacation. They have decided to finish up their schooling first, so the wedding will be sometime in 2009. CONGRATULATIONS! Terry & Bev Voorhees just completed their very own "Grandpa & Grandma Camp" with their two grandsons from PA. Their days were filled with baking and decorating (and eating!) Pacman cookies. The boys were so proud of their creations! Then it was off to the beach for shell-seeking and then crafting pictures taken at the beach with shell borders. Before the boys left, they made a picture album and video for Mom & Dad. Now the boys can't wait for Camp next year, they loved it! Bev & Terry, are these camp days limited only to your grandkids?? Some of the adults in the neighborhood might be interested in participating in your next Camp…..!!! Bev says this "Camp concept" could also be "Mommy Camp" or "Daddy Camp". Fun activities!

Olivia Martin just finished 8th grade at Beth Shields Middle School. She was part of the honors/gifted program and maintained straight A's throughout all of her three years there. She is a member of the National Junior Honor Society. This summer, Olivia will spend time participating in community service and traveled to Japan with her grandparents in June. She will attend Lennard High School. Michael & Connie are the very proud parents! CONGRATS, Olivia! David & Elka Bergin will soon be sharing the household with their visiting grandchildren~all 6 of them! Donny & Michelle Cook are proud and very happy! parents of their first child, Aubrey Rose, born May 3rd, 5 lbs., 3 oz. ~ a beautiful baby, we hear. Congratulations!!! Gisela Horkey spent time with relatives in Germany in May/June. Hope you had a great trip. Betty Spivy took a much needed vacation to Michigan to see all her Grandchildren and Great Grands. However, her first priority was to get a Coney Island Hot Dog! Dave & Laurie Walsh had an Open House and Birthday Party for their son, Benjamin, who turned a year old in June! Frank & Carrie Barnett's grandchildren, who are here in town, will be going to Church Camp in July. This will be Blake's first time away from his parents. He is 7 years old, but says he "is ready". The Barnetts will be celebrating their 50th Wedding Anniversary in September. Their three children are throwing a bash for them at Little Harbor. Congrats in advance, Carrie & Frank!!
